Another Reason To Stay Alert
There are many reasons to stay alert when working at an airport. Besides the obvious safety issues and policies each department employee has been trained and certified for, there are security issues that many people don’t think about when traveling. Municipal airports are usually tight communities, so strangers are noticed quickly and usually cannot get past the front gate without identifying themselves.
This photo was provided by a Los Angeles law enforcement agency in early April. The woman in the photo has been posing as a car rental agency employee. She has successfully stolen several rental cars from FBO’s in the greater Los Angeles area after gaining access to rental car keys and simply driving away.
Please store your rental car keys and verify all driver’s licenses when releasing rental vehicles. Avoid the liability! Rental agencies are asking Southern California FBO’s to have all returned rentals picked up by the respective rental agencies
